Is the Fondation Dr Javad Nurbakhsh a 501(c)(3) registered charity?

FDJN is sponsored by the Sufi Service Committee, which is a registered 501(c)(3) in the United States.

 

FDJN is based in Abidjan, Cote d’ Ivoire and cannot be directly registered as a 501(c)(3) in the United States. However, FDJN is fiscally sponsored by a registered 501(c)3 in the United States: the Sufi Service Committee (SSC) – EIN #45-5268065. Donations accepted on the FDJN web site are processed through SSC. SSC raises money on behalf of FDJN and grants funds to FDJN. SSC and FDJN work together to ensure that 100% of contributions to FDJN are used to support the mission of FDJN.

Can I get a tax write-off on my contribution?

All donations to FDJN through our fiscal sponsor Sufi Service Committee are tax – deductible in the United States. Other countries may offer tax benefits as well. Please check the tax laws in your own country for more information.

Where does the money I donate on the Fondation Dr Javad Nurbakhsh web site go?

Donations made on the FDJN web site are received and managed by a registered United States 501(c)(3) charity – the Sufi Service Committee (SSC). As funds are required by FDJN, money is transferred from SSC to FDJN in Abidjan, Cote d’ Ivoire. The FDJN provides regular reports to SSC. SSC is committed, as the fiscal sponsor of FDJN, to allocate 100% of all funds raised on behalf of FDJN to the needs of FDJN.

The Sufi Service Committee (SSC) is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States that has been assisting the Fondation Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh (FDJN) for over 7 years. The SSC supports numerous groups around the world that are working to address basic needs in their local communities including food, shelter, education, and access to jobs and community resources.
